NebulOuS is a trailblazing research project committed to making substantial contributions in the realms of cloud and fog computing brokerage. Led by Eurocat in the role of project coordinator, NebulOuS brings together dedicated experts, visionaries,
and innovators passionate about reshaping the landscape of cloud computing.

This project is being developed by a team of nearly 100 people from 16 organizations, located in 8 different European countries: France, Germany, Greece, Ireland, Norway, Poland, Portugal and Spain.

Eurecat is the leading Technology Centre of Catalonia, providing the industrial and business sector with differential technology, advanced expertise and solutions to their innovation needs. The range of services offered by the centre are primarily focused on applied R+D+i, technological services, information technology consulting, highly-specialized training, product and service development, and promotion and distribution of technological innovation. Serving more than a thousand companies, Eurecat is involved in 200 projects of R&D national and international with high strategic value.

South-East European Research Centre

The South-East European Research Centre (SEERC) is a research centre of CITY College, University of York Europe Campus, established in Thessaloniki, Greece in 2004 as a non-profit, legal entity. Its mission is to support and reinforce sustainable development in South-East Europe by conducting pure and applied multidisciplinary research in the fields of Enterprise, Innovation & Development, Information & Communication Technologies (ICT), and Society & Human Development. To accomplish this, SEERC employs the existing research capacities of CITY College and the University of York by facilitating the collaboration between their research staff and developing multi-disciplinary networks of researchers from across South-East Europe.

BIBA – Bremer Institut für Produktion und Logistik is a research institute focused on engineering science. It was founded in 1981 as one of the first affiliated institutes of the University of Bremen and counts as one of the largest research facilities in the federal state of Bremen. Based on distinct fundamental research, BIBA carries out applied and contract research, both on national and international level, in the areas of production and logistics for relevant industries like logistics, automotive, aviation and wind energy.

Institute of Communication and Computer Systems

The Institute of Communication and Computer Systems (ICCS)
is a non-profit research institute established in 1989 by the Ministry 
of Education of Greece and the School of Electrical and Computer Engineering of NTUA to promote research and development activities 
in all aspects of computer and telecommunications systems and their applications. The Information Management Unit (IMU), a research unit 
of ICCS whose mission is to design and develop human-centered, data-driven, AI-powered trustworthy information management systems that support actionable decision making by individuals, teams, and organisations, will take part in the NebulOuS project. Research in IMU addresses the whole lifecycle from data analysis to computation 
(cloud and fog) and decision making.

ActiveEon

Nice, France

ActiveEon is an open source solution provider offering “ProActive Workflows & Scheduling”: a comprehensive Open Source job scheduler and Orchestrator, also featuring Workflows and Resource Management. It is organized in three interfaces: a studio to create workflows, a scheduler to execute the computations on a cluster of commuting resources and a resource management system for all the resources in the cloud continuum. A specific product based on this technology is developed for ML-OPS.

Mercabarna is the food hub of Barcelona that operates with the aim of guaranteeing the supply of fresh food to the public. The facility houses 600 companies specializing in the distribution, preparation, importing, and exporting of fresh and frozen products. Mercabarna is one of the main European fresh food markets, with 2M tonnes annually distributed across Spain and many countries worldwide, and a space of reference in terms of management and operation of a food estate (innovation, training, environment, etc).

@fire

@fire is a nongovernmental organization (NGO) which is funding itself through donations and contributions. It was registered in 2002 as an association public charity in Germany: @fire – International Disaster Response Reg.Ass. (VR 201059). @fire contains more than 450 trained volunteers specialized in Wildland Firefighting (WFF) and Urban Search and Rescue (USAR).
